Our first ONE LOVE ZUMBA® Dance Party fundraiser was held at the Shelburne Town Hall gymnasium on Saturday, February 10th. The event was a great success, thanks to the generous of all dancers and instructors, and raised close to $2,000 to benefit Friends of Stowe Adaptive Sports.
The annual event kicks off with a free Zumba® clinic for people with disabilities from 12:30-1:30 pm at the same location.
Zumba® Fitness combines Latin and international music with a fun and effective dance workout. The dance, often referred to as ‘exercise-in-disguise,” is dynamic, exciting, fun and easy to follow for people of all ages.
Local Zumba® instructors Jennifer Niles and Regina Patterson are volunteering to lead both the dance and the clinic, and invite participants to collect donations from friends and family to benefit Friends of Stowe Adaptive Sports.
“We are very excited to host our first Zumba-thon and truly appreciate Jennifer and Regina’s generous contributions to lead the participants. We hope to pack the dance floor with participants of all ages, and raise funds to help us continue our mission,” Executive Director, Cynthia Needham commented.
The event is open to the public and all are encouraged to participate. Just bring your athletic shoes, a water bottle and a smile!
