About Us

Friends of Stowe Adaptive Sports is a Vermont-based non-profit founded in 2010 on the belief that access to sports and recreational programs are a powerful means for people with disabilities to develop independence as well as physical and mental well-being.

Our Mission is to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities living in or visiting Vermont through Stowe Mountain Resort's adaptive sports and recreational programs. We also work cooperatively with Stowe Mountain Resort to enhance the Resort's ability to deliver a quality experience to persons with disabilities.

We further our mission through three activities:

Providing financial assistance for Vermont residents living with permanent disabilities in the form of scholarships that can be used for skiing or riding at Stowe Mountain Resort
Providing grants to support advanced training to coaches working in the Adaptive Program at Stowe Mountain Resort's Ski & Snowboard School
Providing specialized adaptive equipment.
